My name is Mr Poole and I am a teacher of Economics. I live with my family in Harrow and I have over 40 years of experience in teaching; over 20 of those as a school leader including 4 years as a Primary School Headteacher. I was also Head of Sixth Form at Queen Elizabeth’s Boys’ School. As a Head of Faculty and Economics teacher, I have taught GCSE classes and A-Level as well as successfully preparing Year 13 students for Oxbridge entrance.
Economics is a way of thinking which combines critical thinking with analysis of data and literacy. Many of my students have taken Economics as their 4th subject in Year 12, and then decided that it was their favourite subject and went on to study the subject at university. Some have gone on to work at the Bank of England and others to lead AI companies.
Outside of the classroom, I am a Scouter who enjoys introducing young people to the outdoors, including biannual trips to the international Scout centre at Kandersteg.
I measure pupil success on an individual basis. I have high, yet reasonable, expectations and I consider it a privilege to work with students in order to help them achieve their full potential.
