Mrs Roddy

Hello, my name is Mrs Roddy. I am one of the teachers in Primary Pre-Prep here at Cambridge Home School. I have been teaching for 30 years and have a BEd Hons in Primary Education. I have extra qualifications as a Reading Recovery teacher and was lucky enough to teach children with reading difficulties for 8 years. I have taught in all age groups in the primary phase and have worked in various cities, towns, and villages across the north of England.

Over my career, I have been privileged to work with many families from all parts of the world and from so many different backgrounds. Maintaining good relationships with parents has always been a key part of my role as an educator and helps me to maximise my time with the children.

I use a variety of learning styles in my teaching to engage and motivate children and use praise and encouragement consistently to allow my students to achieve their personal best. I live in a village near Holmfirth in West Yorkshire looking out onto the Pennine hills.

I live with my husband, older children and round the corner from my parents. I enjoy Pilates, walking and anything to do with History.
