Edinburgh is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. Known for its rich history, cultural attractions, beautiful architecture, friendly neighbourhoods, and higher education, the city attracts millions of tourists each year.
Families living in Edinburgh have a particularly strong focus on education. Each year, parents research the best schools in town. Previously, their search was restricted to conventional schools. However, parents are increasingly interested in the local online schools after the pandemic.
At Cambridge Home School Online, we have over 20 years of experience in providing a quality Cambridge online education to students living across the UK, including Edinburgh. As one of the most esteemed online schools in the UK, we help students secure top grades and become well-rounded students.
Today, parents can choose from dozens of online schools in Edinburgh. However, CHS Online is their top consideration. Why? Keep reading.
To succeed in school, students must be provided a quality education. This isn’t restricted to a well-balanced curriculum or a qualified faculty. It encompasses the totality of resources and approaches that give students an academic edge.
At CHS Online, we cover all the bases to help our students easily grasp and retain concepts. Our students actively ask questions in class, engage with their peers, take notes, perform lesson-related activities, and deliver presentations. They learn effectively and efficiently.
Our online schooling approach has helped students living in Edinburgh secure top grades. In June 2021, 86% of our IGCSE students secured A*s and As in their target subjects. 83% of our A Level students secured two As and a B or higher, as requested by top universities. Moreover, all students who applied received offers from some of the world’s best universities.
2. Immense Flexibility

As an institution, we believe students learn better when they enjoy a healthy school-life balance. When rigidity is removed from their routine, they develop a stronger interest in their studies. This approach increases engagement levels and improves overall class performance.
We help students reap the benefits of flexible schooling. Online school ends sooner than conventional school. This doesn’t mean that our classes aren’t comprehensive and rigorous. Instead, it means that the additional time commuting to/from school and shuffling in and out of classrooms is cut down.
Students free up a couple of additional hours each day. Our students spend this time developing new skills, exploring their interests and hobbies, socialising with friends, going on explorations and excursions, and so on. Our students also retain high energy levels since they don’t return home feeling tired and overworked from school. Since their classes are online, they aren’t worn out.

pparent. Students are at risk of contracting viruses. However, that’s not all. The risk of bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, peer pressure, and ostracisation is also particularly high in conventional schools.
The online schooling model stands out for offering greater safety to students. Since pupils attend online classes from home, the risk of virus contraction is eliminated. We also reduce the risk of bullying by providing extensive training to our teachers. They are adept at identifying the subtlest signs of bullying and intervening on time.
This approach is lacking in most conventional schools today. The reason is a high student-teacher ratio. As many as 25 (or sometimes even 30) students are taught in a single classroom by one teacher. Since too many students are present in the classroom, instances of bullying slip through the cracks. There’s only so much the teacher can do. They struggle to track each student’s activity, increasing the overall bullying rate under the conventional schooling system.
We keep our student-teacher ratio particularly low. Each classroom comprises 8–10 students, no more. This helps our teachers track each student’s performance and behaviour very closely. If a student misbehaves with their peers, our teachers promptly identify such instances and take immediate action. Based on the situation, the student may be warned or removed from the classroom. If we deem their behaviour threatening to other students, we may schedule a meeting with the student’s parents.
At CHS Online, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our students. Putting these measures in place ensures that each student has a positive, safe, wholesome, and enriching online learning experience. Our teachers are alert, assiduous, and empathetic. They conscientiously moderate each classroom and provide personalised attention and care to every pupil.
As online learning gains traction in Edinburgh, parents and students are being urged to do their research and find the right institution. Instead of rushing the process, take your time and shortlist different schools. Look into their policies and programs to understand which institution is right for you.
