History
Mrs Huby
Hello! I’m Mrs Huby and I am a History teacher at Cambridge Home School. I live in Bradford, West Yorkshire with my husband, three children and over-indulged dog (Ted). My passion for History stemmed from my father, who was also a History graduate and following my A-levels, I gained a History degree from St Andrews University and then a PGCE from Manchester University.
I have held a number of different roles in my 27 years (and going strong) teaching career, both on the academic and pastoral side, and had a wonderful opportunity to teach in Singapore before the arrival of my family. I have also been an examiner for A-level and GCSE History papers. My older son has just completed his A-levels and intends to study History at University, and my daughter is currently halfway through her A-levels, of which History is one of her subjects. My younger son is yet to select his A-levels but if I was a betting woman, I’d put money on him choosing History too! I am proud to say that my enthusiasm for the subject has rubbed off on them!
In my spare time, I love sport – particularly tennis, which I try to play as often as I can. I also regularly attend a boot camp in a local park, which in winter (and often summer too to be honest!) is wet, windy and muddy but for some reason even more satisfying! We are very lucky to live next to some of the most beautiful Yorkshire moors, so you’ll probably find Ted and I there most weekends.
