I was born and raised in Newcastle in the Northeast of England, and I still live in the suburbs of the city, within earshot of St James Park! I have been teaching maths for almost 30 years, both in the classroom and more recently here at CHS, and still absolutely love it. My first degree is in Statistics and my teaching qualification is in Maths. I have an MSc in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management, so as you can see Maths has been my passion throughout my career, and I am now resigned to the fact that I am a maths nerd and proud of it. I really do love teaching maths; giving my students the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to enjoy my subject is my motivation. In my experience, students who enjoy the subject are significantly more likely to achieve their potential in it.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing the occasional game of golf, which satisfies my competitive nature. I am very proud to be teaching at CHS and look forward to many more years working as part of our very special and unique online community.
