Computer Science
Mr Descombe
I’m Scott Descombe, an experienced computer science educator with over 11 years of teaching experience in secondary schools. I’ve had the privilege of working in some of the best schools in the UK, where I’ve earned a reputation for my innovative teaching methods and deep understanding of computer science concepts.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a software developer, gaining practical experience in programming and software engineering. This industry background has provided me with a solid foundation for my teaching career.
Aside from my professional achievements, I have a strong passion for exploration and have travelled to around 40 countries, immersing myself in different cultures and broadening my perspectives on the relationship between technology and society.
I’m not only enthusiastic about technology inside the classroom, but also outside of it. I love programming and I enjoy building things using my own 3D printer and laser cutter. These hands-on projects push the boundaries of my creativity and allow me to bring my ideas to life.
I have a special interest in robotics and have had the opportunity to take my students to various international robotics competitions. It’s incredibly rewarding to see my students showcase their skills and represent their school on a global stage.
My journey in computer science began at a young age when I started programming at just six years old. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to continuous learning and growth in the field.
In summary, I’m a dedicated computer science teacher with a wealth of experience. My background as a software developer, extensive travels, and passion for technology and creation inform my dynamic teaching style. Through international robotics competitions and hands-on projects, I strive to inspire and empower my students to explore the exciting possibilities of the digital world.
