I have considerable experience of teaching Geography in a range of learning environments, having previously been a university lecturer and tutor, and engaging in widening participation schemes. I passionately believe in the values of Geography, a subject we all experience in our lives on a daily basis. With previous success in leading students through examinations, I have knowledge and understanding of exam techniques, gained from experience with exam boards.
Whenever teaching Geography, I believe in the application of knowledge to real world examples, referring to ongoing global issues, and referring to the concepts of time and space on a regular basis. I have received positive feedback on my teaching style and communication with students at GCSE and A level, particularly regarding supporting students with confidence issues.
I have a PhD in Sociology, an MA in Regional and Environmental Policy and a 1st degree in BSc Geography. Outside of academics, I enjoy travelling, walking, and watching sports.
