Sixth Form (A Levels)

Online A Level Geography

Description

Our Cambridge online A Level Geography course is meticulously structured to give students an in-depth understanding of the world’s geographical complexities. This highly-regarded qualification not only demonstrates your grasp of essential theoretical frameworks but also hones your practical skills. Designed to offer comprehensive preparation, our A Level Geography course online serves as a pathway to higher education, enabling you to progress to university-level geography courses.

In this course, students learn to articulate complex geographical phenomena, from climate change and sustainability to urban development and geopolitical issues. They are trained to employ both qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate and solve real-world challenges.

Homework, Assessment and Reporting

Students taking the A Level Geography online are expected to complete a minimum of one homework assignment for each subject per week. To ensure optimum success in the sixth form, we encourage revisiting and revising class notes regularly to reinforce learning. Following a guideline, students should aim for an hour of independent study to match every hour of formal teaching.

We are committed to tracking your progress through a series of carefully timed assessments. Level 5 internal assessments occur in June, while Level 6 internal mock assessments are held in November and March. Reports are then issued at the conclusion of the Autumn and Summer terms for Level 5, and after the mock assessments for Level 6 in both the Autumn and Spring terms. These reports include grades for attainment and effort across subjects, along with constructive feedback from our Success Coaches and the Head Teacher.

Parental Involvement

Parents are highly encouraged to engage through their family Teams account for ongoing dialogue with teachers. This provides the unique advantage of more detailed tracking of your academic progress throughout the academic year, beyond what a single annual parent consultation evening can offer.

Our A Level Geography online course provides an academic and analytical foundation that not only prepares you for university but also equips you to better understand and engage with the world around you.
