Mrs Colgan

My name is Mrs Colgan and I am a Mathematics teacher at Cambridge Home School. I live just outside of Glasgow in Scotland with my family and have been teaching since 2010. I have held many different roles throughout my career including Numeracy Coordinator for my school, Enterprising Mathematics Coordinator for the local authority and most recently Faculty Head of Mathematics and Numeracy.

I have a BSci Hons in Statistics from Glasgow University as well as a PGDE in Mathematics Teaching from the University of Strathclyde. I have experience of working for the Scottish Qualifications Authority writing assessment questions, quality assuring the marking of the final examination papers and processing appeals for students post-results.

I adore Maths. I relish the opportunity to get my hands on a new exam paper each year and my career ambition is to ensure Maths moves further up every student’s list of favourite subjects. In my free time I enjoy learning new languages (currently Spanish and Italian), exercising and baking with my children.
