The CAIE 9990 A Level Psychology specification allows students to facilitate their understanding of Psychology providing a firm basis from which to springboard into university and beyond.
At Cambridge Home School, we prepare students for the full A Level examinations (AS and A2 combined).
The AS Level content includes approaches, issues and debates and research methods:
- Biological
- Cognitive
- Learning
- Social
- Research Methods
At A2 Level, candidates are required to study how Psychology is applied in two of the following four areas:
- Abnormality
- Consumer behaviour
- Health
- Organisations
It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their examinations – our teachers will provide all the support required. Most students will sit their examination papers at a local school or college. Some students sit their examinations at private examination centres (Google these or ask and we can provide a list) or the British Council for international students.

What is the focus of the A Level Psychology online course?

How is homework managed in the online Psychology A Level course?
Students in the sixth form are obliged to complete at least one piece of homework for each subject weekly. Additionally, it is recommended that students engage in an hour of independent study for each hour of in-class instruction to reinforce their learning.

Assessments include Level 5 internal evaluations in June and Level 6 mock tests in November and March. Reports are provided at the end of the Autumn and Summer terms for Level 5, and after the mock assessments in the Autumn and Spring terms for Level 6. These reports include grades for both effort and attainment, accompanied by feedback from Success Coaches and the Head Teacher.

Parents are advised to use a family Teams account for ongoing communication with teachers about their child’s academic progress. This allows for more thorough tracking of performance than what would typically be possible through an annual consultation evening.
