The course provides an in-depth exploration into the ways psychology has been applied across various disciplines and offers valuable insights through important research studies. With our online Psychology A Level, you are well-positioned to advance into university-level psychology courses.

Homework, Assessment and Reporting

For students enrolled in our online Psychology A Level course, the expectation is to complete at least one piece of homework per subject each week. To ensure success, revising notes to consolidate learning after each lesson is highly recommended. Following the guiding principle that each hour of classroom instruction should be matched with an hour of independent study, our A Level Psychology online course provides a balanced and thorough educational experience.

Our assessment strategy is designed to provide students with continuous feedback and evaluation. Level 5 internal assessments are conducted in June, while Level 6 internal mock assessments are scheduled for November and March. Reports, issued at the end of the Autumn and Summer terms for Level 5 and after the mock assessments for Level 6, detail grades for attainment and effort in each subject, supplemented with written comments from Success Coaches and the Head Teacher.

Parental Engagement

Parents are strongly encouraged to use their family Teams account for regular dialogue with teachers concerning their child’s academic progress. This offers the unique benefit of more nuanced tracking of academic performance, presenting a distinct advantage over traditional annual parent consultation evenings.

Our A Level Psychology online course provides an intellectually stimulating and flexible learning environment, setting the stage for your future academic and professional pursuits in psychology.

The CAIE 9990 A Level Psychology specification allows students to facilitate their understanding of Psychology providing a firm basis from which to springboard into university and beyond.

At Cambridge Home School, we prepare students for the full A Level examinations (AS and A2 combined).

The AS Level content includes approaches, issues and debates and research methods:

  • Biological
  • Cognitive
  • Learning
  • Social
  • Research Methods

At A2 Level, candidates are required to study how Psychology is applied in two of the following four areas:

  • Abnormality
  • Consumer behaviour
  • Health
  • Organisations

It is the student’s responsibility to arrange their examinations – our teachers will provide all the support required. Most students will sit their examination papers at a local school or college. Some students sit their examinations at private examination centres (Google these or ask and we can provide a list) or the British Council for international students.
