Online Schooling in the UAE

As online schooling becomes popular across the UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaiwain, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ra’s al-Khaimah), many parents have started looking into the benefits of long-term virtual learning for children. As a parent, you should have a strong focus on your child’s academic performance, personal development, and social growth.

Compared to conventional (in-person) schooling, online schooling offers greater flexibility, safety, and convenience. Students can learn from home, enjoy a healthy school-life balance, and secure top grades.

At Cambridge Home School, we’re considered one of the top online private schools in the UAE. Established in 2002, we have been providing a quality British online education to students across the UAE for the past 19 years and counting. We prioritise each student’s learning journey by providing:

  • An illustrious faculty comprising MA/Ph.D. qualified subject specialist teachers
  • A low student-teacher ratio (8 to 10 pupils per group)
  • A well-rounded, independent curriculum
  • A vast online library filled with educational resources, study guides, past papers, revision tools, and more
  • A smooth, interactive, and enriching online learning atmosphere
  • One-on-one success coaching and pastoral support to all students
  • 24/7 parental access to their children’s coursework
  • Three parent-teacher consultations each year (one in every term)

If you’re considering making the switch, make sure you choose an online school that offers quality education, academic and non-academic support, and a holistic learning environment. At Cambridge Home School, we’re trusted by thousands of parents across the UAE. Let’s take a closer look at why we’re the right choice for your child.

Why Should I Select Cambridge Home School?

1. Building a Strong Academic Core

We provide quality online education to students across four schools: Primary Prep/Key Stage 2 (ages 8 to 10), Lower School/Key Stage 3 (ages 11 to 13), Upper School/IGCSEs (ages 14 to 16), and Sixth Form/AS &A Levels (ages 17 to 19).

Since our establishment, we’ve had a razor-sharp focus on maintaining a high quality of online learning. Our students are recognised for securing A*s and As in their IGCSE and A-Levels examinations. Our younger students stand out for performing exceptionally well on their tests, mid-term exams, and final exams.

With a strong focus on academic success, we ensure that each student is taught by experienced, qualified, dedicated, and skilled teachers who bring out the best in them. Students are provided enriching, well-structured, and retentive lessons that help them a) understand concepts better, b) retain the knowledge they’re absorbing, c) revise with ease, and d) secure top grades.

We also have a well-rounded, independent curriculum in place. At Cambridge Home School, we believe that the national curriculum is too prescriptive and subject to political turbulence. To actualise academic success, students need a broader, balanced curriculum.

Our independent curriculum retains the best aspects of the national curriculum and introduces new elements to help students cover all the bases and receive a holistic, interdisciplinary education. Over the years, our teachers and unique curriculum have helped students perform exceptionally well and retain their academic consistency as they progress from one scholastic stage to another.

2. Offering Enhanced Flexibility

Our teachers and education specialists work assiduously to make online schooling structured, cohesive, and well-balanced. From carefully selecting the right class duration to encouraging students to explore their passions, hobbies, and interests outside of class, we cover all the bases to ensure healthy scheduling and offer enhanced flexibility.

We focus on a lot more than just academics. Our students play competitive sports, socialise with their friends, play skill-building games, participate in character-building activities, go on family trips to learn about new cultures, and enjoy a healthy school-life balance.

We’re extremely particular about maintaining this balance to prevent students from feeling overwhelmed by their classes. While we double down on academic growth as that is indubitably our top priority, we also ensure that students have enriching experiences after class. As a result, our students feel content about their online schooling journey and actualise immense personal and social growth.

3. Track Record

We’re trusted by hundreds of parents across the UAE owing to our impeccable track record. Over the years, we’ve been committed to helping our students secure top grades in their examinations. The results have been gratifying for parents and, of course, our team.

In June 2021, 86% of our IGCSE students secured A*s and As in their target subjects. 83% of our A-Levels students secured two As and a B or higher as required by top universities. Moreover, all students who applied received offers from top universities. We attribute our track record to the hard work of our students, the persistence and dedication of our teachers, and the trust of our parents.

By keeping the classroom size small (8 to 10 students per group), we ensure that each student receives ample individualised attention from their teacher. Since each classroom comprises a handful of students, our teachers gain insight into every student’s learning habits, weaknesses, and strengths.

It’s possible that a certain student continually gets distracted during class. Similarly, another student may have trouble with a certain subtopic. By understanding each student’s learning persona and creating an individualised teaching style accordingly, our teachers maximise knowledge absorption and retention. This strategy has helped our students secure top grades.

A low student-teacher ratio goes a long way in helping students learn more effectively. Students don’t have to compete with each other for their teacher’s time, attention, and guidance. By teaching as few as 8 to 10 students, our teachers can give one-on-one time to all of them. As a result, students get a better grasp of critical concepts. There’s no risk of a student potentially being left behind.

While the group is taught collectively, each individual is also provided the personalised assistance they need to understand the lesson better. At the end of the day, our students progress extremely well. As a parent, you don’t have to worry about your child struggling to pay attention, understand lessons, participate in class, or stay on track. Our teachers will take care of it all.

4. Quality Educational Resources

We believe that teaching plays a big role in helping students perform exceptionally well. However, teaching is the first pillar that holds the structure of strong learning. The second pillar is the provision of quality educational resources.

Our online library is replete with quality educational resources, including study guides, past papers, notes, videos, audios, presentations, exam tips, and a wide range of other tools. Students can access these resources for better revision leading up to their exams.

We also advise parents to utilise these resources and assist their children with homework and/or revision. While this step isn’t necessary, it often helps younger children progress exceptionally well.

It’s important to mention that parents aren’t required to intervene during the online classes at any point. Our MA/Ph.D. qualified subject specialist teachers structure engaging, interactive, stimulating, and retentive classes to ensure that each student remains engrossed in the lessons through and through. As a parent, you will not be required to “check-in” at any point; that’s our job, and it’s a job we take very seriously.

Our definition of “academic performance” covers more than just academic components. We also build essential soft skills in students to help them develop a strong interest in their studies. For instance, students are taught the importance of teamwork for better performance during projects.

We also plan activities that teach students the importance of time management, especially since their exams are time-bound. In addition, soft skills like empathy, respect, self-discipline, and honesty are prioritised. This approach helps our students commit to their studies and become well-rounded individuals.

4. Student Mental Health

In addition to focusing on academic performance, we also double down on student mental health. At Cambridge Home School, we strongly believe that students require more than just academic support to excel at school. Students who feel stressed, anxious, or depressed for any academic or non-academic reason struggle to actualise their true potential and perform to the best of their ability.

We provide one-on-one success coaching and pastoral support to every student at Cambridge Home School. This approach helps us provide each student with the emotional support they need to navigate their schooling experience with ease and adroitness. Teenagers especially struggle with a plethora of issues that can affect their academics if left unaddressed. By focusing on these aspects, we help them get back on track.
