Miss Ness
I have been a teacher for almost two decades, working across GCSE, A Level and vocational qualifications. I hold a degree in Applied Psychology (Durham University) and a Masters in Teaching and Learning. These have given me a strong academic foundation and a deep understanding of how young people learn and thrive. Over the course of my career I have taught Psychology, Sociology and Criminology, and I have held a number of leadership positions including Head of Department and Director of Learning.
My work in education has involved supporting new teachers, designing curriculum pathways and leading whole-school initiatives to improve teaching, learning and student wellbeing. I am passionate about creating engaging, supportive and challenging learning experiences that help students grow in confidence and achieve their full potential. Seeing young people develop their understanding, find their interests and succeed is the reason I love being a teacher.
Outside school I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring local walks and discovering new places. I also love seeing live music, mostly indie, and trying out new places to eat.
