Online British International School In Thailand

Known for its strong focus on education, Thailand is one of Southeast Asia’s most intellectually rich countries. Parents are strongly committed to providing a quality education to their children. Thai students perform exceptionally well in school, secure top grades, attend some of the most prestigious universities globally, and enjoy successful careers as adults.

In recent years, the schooling landscape has started to evolve in the country. Today, parents are increasingly switching from conventional schools to online schools in Thailand.

Initially, this switch was being made for safety purposes. As the COVID-19 pandemic peaked in 2020 and 2021, online learning became the new norm for many families.

As students continued to attend lessons from home, they acclimatised to the pace and nature of online schooling. Within months, online home schools in Thailand were deemed more effective, flexible, retentive, and mental health-friendly for students.

At Cambridge Home School Online, we provide a quality British online education to English speaking students living in Thailand – both Thai and expat families. We offer four competitive homeschooling programs: Primary Prep/Key Stage 2 (ages 7 to 10), Lower School/Key Stage 3 (ages 11 to 13), Upper School/IGCSEs (ages 14 to 16), and Sixth Form/AS & A-Levels (ages 17 to 19).

As an institution, we have a razor-sharp focus on helping students succeed in different aspects of their life. While our students secure top grades, they also enjoy good mental health. We emphasise personal growth and social development, giving students the opportunity to develop their non-academic interests, socialise with their friends, develop new skills and hobbies, and keep the exploration process going.

Over the years, our Thai students have impressed our teachers and their parents immensely. In June 2021, 86% of our IGCSE students secured A*s and As in their target subjects. 83% of our A Level students secured two As and a B or higher, as requested by top universities. Moreover, all students who applied received offers from some of the best universities across the globe.

Our students also play competitive sports, participate in competitions (Spelling Bee, debate competitions, etc.), and do volunteer work after school. We promote holistic growth to help our students become motivated, hardworking, and well-rounded individuals.

Cambridge Home School Online is a selective school which means only the most motivated students with good grades are accepted. Like all of the world’s elite schools Cambridge Home School Online is always over-subscribed and there is a lot of competiton for school places. Parents are advised to apply in advance of an anticipated start date or to join the waiting list.

The Benefits of Online Learning for Thai Students

Compared to conventional schooling, online learning is significantly more beneficial for students living in Thailand. At Cambridge Home School Online, we have a team of Masters/PhD qualified subject specialist teachers on board. Most conventional schools don’t boast such an illustrious, experienced, and highly qualified faculty. As a result, students don’t have an enriching online learning experience. Our Thai students learn from some of the most accomplished, attentive, and brilliant teachers in the UK.

We also keep the student-teacher ratio particularly low. This is an added benefit of online schooling that isn’t found in the conventional schooling system. Most in-person schools have a high student-teacher ratio. Oftentimes, as many as 25 or even 30 students are taught in a single classroom.

We’re particularly wary of this. We teach between 8 and 10 students in small groups at our online school in Thailand, ensuring that they receive ample one-on-one attention from their teachers. As a result, our students learn and absorb more knowledge. They become curious, critical, and sharp learners who actively participate in class, pay close attention to their lessons, and perform well on their exams.

Online learning also stands out for its flexibility. The conventional schooling system can be particularly challenging for younger students. There’s little to no flexibility. Students return home feeling tired, overwhelmed, and fatigued. They don’t get a chance to play their favourite sports, develop their interests, meet their friends, and enjoy their favourite afterschool activities. The critical personal and social development process is affected.

We help students enjoy more flexibility. Our classes are well-structured and well-timed. Most conventional classes often become protracted; our teachers take special care to avoid that. Students have a smooth, streamlined, and effective online learning experience. When their classes end for the day, pupils still have the energy to enjoy afterschool activities. The learning process never stops.

At our online Cambridge school in Thailand, we believe that student mental health isn’t just important, it’s imperative. We provide one-on-one success coaching and pastoral support to each student. If a pupil is facing any academic or non-academic problems, our school counsellors help them navigate and resolve these promptly.

Is the Switch Right for Me?

Both parents and students approach us with this question frequently. Parents are interested in understanding whether the switch to a British school online in Thailand would be right for their children. Older students are interested in gauging whether they’re ready for the transition.

We believe that online schooling is effective for all students above the age of 6. We offer online schooling to students aged 7 and up. If you’re worried about whether your children will have trouble adjusting to online schooling, you can rest assured that this will not be a problem. Our teachers use an individualised teaching strategy for each pupil, helping them learn the ropes and acclimatise to online learning. Within a few weeks, students start enjoying their lessons and performing better in school.

If you’re an older student, online schooling will help you secure excellent grades in your upcoming IGCSE and/or A Level examinations. We use a well-rounded, independent curriculum to help students succeed. We also provide each student with access to our online repository. You can browse through study guides, notes, past papers, previous lessons, videos, and so many other resources.
