Scholarships and Bursaries at Cambridge Home School: 3 Things to Keep in Mind

a concept illustration of scholarships and bursaries

In addition to keeping the annual school fees lower than conventional schools, Cambridge Home School also offers scholarships and bursaries to students. The esteemed institution’s annual fee is £4000 for Primary Prep School and £9000 for Lower School, Upper School, and Sixth Form.

However, the institution understands that parents may struggle to adequately fund their child’s education for numerous reasons. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK has been facing financial uncertainty. While business activities are gradually normalising, many families have borne the brunt of temporary business closures across the UK.

At Cambridge Home School, we’re committed to ensuring that children with exceptional abilities are able to receive a quality education. Explore our scholarships and bursaries page for a complete overview of our process. Before you get started, we recommend keeping these three things in mind:

1.  Scholarships vs. Bursaries at Cambridge Home School

Students who have an exceptional academic track record are encouraged to contact our institution and explain why they think they qualify.

In order to ensure equitable scholarship provision, parents are requested to opt-out if they can afford the fees. This helps us reserve scholarships for students who cannot continue an education without financial assistance. By providing help to those who need it most, we are able to level the playing field.

It’s important to note that while this is encouraged, scholarships aren’t officially means-tested. On the contrary, bursaries are. They’re strictly reserved for families who cannot afford the fees. At Cambridge Home School, we offer a bursary of 50% off school fees for a limited number of families that answer “yes” to the conditions provided.

2. Impartiality

Scholarships and bursaries are provided to the strongest applicants. There is no entitlement to parents. By ensuring impartiality and transparency, we are able to provide substantial funding to students who need it most. Parents who wish to secure financial assistance for their children by presenting false information are at risk of getting their application rejected and receiving a warning.

We believe that the education system rests firmly on the foundation of honesty and fairness. Parents/families that resort to deception or dishonesty will not be allowed to have their child admitted to our school. Additional strict action may also be taken.

At Cambridge Home School, we’re committed to upholding the highest standard of integrity and equity. We request that parents/families approaching us do the same.

3. Availability

It’s important to note that bursaries are not available for Primary Prep School. They’re strictly provided to students who attend Lower School, Upper School, or Sixth Form.
