Description
Our Online IGCSE English Language course provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance students’ mastery of the English language. In this course, pupils will learn to articulate their ideas and emotions effectively through speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. The programme places a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of grammar and punctuation while nurturing the development of a wide-ranging vocabulary and a personal writing style. It also fosters an acute awareness of the needs of different audiences, enabling pupils to adapt their language appropriately in various contexts.
As a premier provider of English Language IGCSE Online education, our syllabus serves as an excellent pathway to A Level English Language studies and subsequently, further academic pursuits at university level.
Homework, Assessment and Reporting
Students enrolled in our IGCSE English Language Online Course, like those in our general Upper School, are expected to complete at least one piece of homework per subject each fortnight at Level 3 and each week at Level 4. Academic success in our Upper School is further ensured by the regular revision of class notes to reinforce learning after each lesson. It is imperative that students craft detailed revision cards and notes for each topic throughout the course. This practice substantially aids in preparing students for their final exams at the end of this two-year Online IGCSE English Language course.
For assessments, Level 3 internal evaluations are conducted in June, while Level 4 internal mock assessments take place in November and March. Reports detailing grades for attainment and effort in each subject, along with personalised feedback from Success Coaches and the Head Teacher, are issued at the end of the Autumn and Summer terms for Level 3, and after mock assessments in the Autumn and Spring terms for Level 4.
To facilitate ongoing communication about student progress throughout the academic year, parents are encouraged to utilise their family Teams account. This digital tool offers a more nuanced and consistent tracking of academic performance, a benefit that goes beyond the insights gathered from an annual parent consultation evening.
