Level 3 Photography

Description

For Photographers who wish to study Photography at University or for those who want to balance their sixth form study with a creative subject that offers UCAS points. The course offers up to 56 UCAS points which is equal to the top grade of an A Level, This course can count as one of the 3 A Levels students require to enter University. The course offers the student the specialist portfolio that Universities are looking for.

This course is accredited by the Royal Photographic Society and can be completed 100% online without the need for an examination centre. Student portfolios are presented directly to the examination board for final assessment.

Assessment

Teacher assessments are continuous during one to one tutorials, marking of coursework and assignments and summative tests.

Homework

Homework will be given at the end of each week, usually in the form of researching key concepts, quizzes for recapitulation and subject related fun, completion of coursework.

Reporting

Parents have 24 /7 access to all of their children’s coursework, grades and teacher feedback. Additionally parents can arrange consultations with teachers at mutually convenient times.

Students will develop a range of practical skills with regard to identifying key features and functionality of the camera, appropriate accessories for a particular genre of photographic application, working to a project brief and professional presentation of your portfolio.

The course can be completed over 2 years and involves the passing of 3 key stages; Group A, B and C units (below).

  • Use camera techniques to creatively control visual outcomes (M/505/3067)
  • Print and present a portfolio of photographs (T/505/3068)
  • Plan and complete a photographic project (A/505/3069)
  • Safety in the workplace for photography (M/505/3070)
  • Awareness of employment in the Creative Media sector (L/600/9037)

Group B

  • Image processing, manipulation and storage (T/505/3071)
  • The history of photography (A/505/3072)
  • Image documentation and storage (K/505/3066)

Group C

  • Studio photography (M/505/3084)
  • Documentary photography (T/505/3085)
  • Location photography (A/505/3086)
  • Portrait photography (F/505/3073)
  • Experimental photographic imaging (J/505/3074)

Computer, broadband internet connection, digital SLR camera or even mobile phone camera on latest mobile phones.

The Teacher

Mr. Gonzalez is a highly experienced and respected photographer who has exhibited all over the world and has had his work published in Vogue as well as other influential publications.

He is a passionate photographic artist and inspires his students with his expertise and excitement. Students really enjoy his lessons and produce outstanding portfolios which can be used to access Higher education.
