This syllabus is great for learners who want to learn about the French language and culture. This course is ideal preparation for university courses and careers. Students will quickly be able to speak and understand French in a variety of common communication scenariois – see course content below. The teaching and learning is focused on the language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, and these are built on as students progress through their studies. This course builds on skills, knowledge and understanding gained at I GCSE / GCSE.
The course will also offer insights into the culture and civilisation of countries where French is spoken, thus encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and towards speakers of foreign languages.
Teacher assessments are continuous during LIVE TAUGHT lessons, marking of coursework and assignments and summative tests.
Homework will be given at the end of each week, usually in the form of speaking, listening, and writing exercises.
Parents have 24 /7 access to all of their student’s coursework. Teachers are available during term times to discuss student progress.
Madame Langvillier is a native French speaker and a highly experienced teacher of French at Lower school, IGCSE and A Level. Her passion for her mother tongue and her country is infectious and her pupils quickly share this. Madame Langevillier is very friendly and approachable and she immediately puts even the most self-conscious pupils at ease with speaking French.
